Position: Code Sensei

Part Time, up to 20 hours/week. Weekday Afternoons, Evenings and Saturdays. Position starts with low hours and increases over time. Availability on Saturdays is required.

What are we looking for?

We’re looking for an outgoing and energetic Code Sensei, at least 16 years old, with experience working with children and a passion for teaching and problem solving. The Code Sensei will join our team of dynamic, forward‑thinking teachers to provide a fun and safe learning environment for children and personalized attention to families.

Responsibilities

• Follow the curriculum and apply it in teaching practices.
• Complete additional training in safety, company and center policies, customer service, and more.
• Participate in mandatory quarterly staff meetings and recurring individual meetings.
• Assist in planning and delivery of programs beyond the written curriculum.
• Create a positive, safe environment for student growth.
• Oversee day‑to‑day coaching, activities and student engagement.
• Collaborate with children to determine skill sets.
• Provide feedback to parents through ongoing progress reports.
• Perform opening/closing duties, including cleaning and quality checks.
• Maintain cleanliness of center areas to meet corporate standards.
• Report progress and projects to the center director.
• Other duties as assigned by the center director.

Preferred Experience and Characteristics

• History of mentoring, coaching or tutoring children ages 5 and up.
• Experience working with the general public.
• Flexible hours, particularly evenings and weekends.
• Strong collaboration skills, adaptability, and ability to work in fast‑paced environments.
• Self‑motivated to complete curriculum training on own time.
• Reliable transportation and commitment to working assigned shifts.
