Job summary

ChristianaCare is seeking a Coding Educator to monitor and validate hospital coding, documentation, and regulatory compliance. The role educates the CDI staff and updates policies to improve coding accuracy.

You will analyze data trends, develop education plans, and present audit findings to staff, while ensuring DRG/APC alignment and reporting accuracy across ChristianaCare facilities.

Qualifications

• RHIA or RHIT certification or equivalent.
• Two years auditing experience required, preferably in an acute care teaching hospital.
• Four years coding/DRG experience required, preferably in an acute care teaching hospital.

Responsibilities

• Plans and conducts audits and reports on documentation, coding and billing.
• Develops and delivers training materials to address deficiencies identified in audits.
• Validates ICD-CM/ICD-PCS, CPT and HCPCS codes and DRG/APC calculations.
• Provides education to coding staff and participates with management on audit findings.
