Job summary

Impact Advisors, LLC seeks an experienced Coding Optimization and Automation Consultant to help healthcare organizations build high-performing coding operations through automation, structure, QA, and measurable performance gains. The role partners with coding, HIM, and revenue cycle leaders to apply Epic functionality and automation to reduce manual work.

Travel up to 80% may be required depending on the engagement.

Qualifications

7+ years of experience in healthcare coding, HIM, coding operations, revenue integrity, or revenue cycle management.
Experience leading or substantially shaping a coding department or coding operations.
Hospital and professional coding experience.
Strong knowledge of CPT, ICD-10-CM/PCS, and E/M coding.
Experience using technology or automation to improve coding processes.

Responsibilities

Assess and redesign coding department structure, roles, and work allocation for efficient operation.
Identify and implement automation opportunities, including Epic coding functionality and AI-enabled tools.
Align Epic workflows with operational processes, including work queues and routing rules.
Develop and optimize coding QA programs with audit approaches and feedback loops.
Deliver coder onboarding, ongoing education, and scalable provider education.
Establish coding KPIs and dashboards for productivity, backlog, and accuracy.
Lead client workstreams and communicate progress to executives.
