Job summary

OpenAI is seeking a senior engineer for the Codex team to turn a powerful tool into a production-grade teammate for enterprises. You will work across OpenAI's internal teams and with external customers to deploy, operate, and trust Codex in real-world environments.

You will own end-to-end systems, focusing on reliability, observability, and security, while shaping deployments and integrations across services, APIs, and governance layers for scalable product and platform improvements.

Qualifications

• Strong software engineering fundamentals and production-grade thinking.
• Proficiency in one or more backend languages (Python, Go, Rust).
• Experience with enterprise identity and governance (SAML/OIDC, SCIM, RBAC).

Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end Codex systems from architecture to production operations.
• Collaborate across internal OpenAI teams and external customers.
• Design secure, observable, full-stack systems across web, IDEs, CLI, and CI/CD.
