Qualifications

• High School Diploma required.
• CPC certification required.
• CEMA within 6 months of hire.
• CPMA within 1 year of hire.
• RHIT or RHIA from AHIMA required or eligible.

Responsibilities

• Assists coders with coding questions.
• Conducts collection and reporting of audit results and education.
• Ensures documentation supports clinic services.
• Reports results to Coding Supervisor - Professional.
• Demonstrates ability to code all encounter types.
• Meets 95% accuracy in diagnoses/procedures coding.
• Ensures data quality and appropriate reimbursement.
• Refers trend patterns to Coding Supervisor - Professional.
• Performs quality audits for E/M Audit Program.
• Analyzes assigned encounters for EM code level accuracy.
• Analyzes and confirms diagnoses and procedures coded.
• Reviews records to ascertain all diagnoses/procedures.
• Codes diagnoses/procedures per ICD-CM and CPT guidelines.
• Trains new coding staff on systems and processes.
