Job summary

Aerotek is seeking a Code Fitter Welder for an on-site contract-to-hire role in Sand Springs, OK. You will fit and weld code-qualified X-ray coils, interpret blueprints, and perform precise measurements to meet stringent quality standards.

The ideal candidate has about 5 years of welding and fitting experience, proficiency in GTAW (TIG) and FCAW, and can pass 2" schedule 160 carbon pipe tests. This position offers a daytime schedule and fully onsite work.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• Approximately 5 years of welding and fitting experience and/or training.
• Ability to pass applicable welding tests including 2" schedule 160 carbon, 6G pipe tests (GTAW and FCAW).
• Proficiency in GTAW (TIG) welding and FCAW welding for coil and structural work.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and specifications accurately.

Responsibilities

• Fit and weld code 100% X-ray coils per drawings, specs, and welding codes.
• Clamp, hold, tack-weld, grind, and bolt components for final welding.
• Inspect workpieces for defects using measuring tools to ensure tolerances.
• Measure dimensions to verify accuracy and quality.
• Develop templates/models using blueprint data and math calculations.
• Plan layouts and welding operations from drawings and specs.
• Maintain production records and job-related paperwork accurately.
