The Riverside County Code Enforcement Department is seeking a Code Enforcement Officer I assigned to the Special Enforcement Team (SET) in Riverside. This entry-level role performs field and office duties to ensure compliance with land use ordinances, and will investigate and report on complaints, issue warnings and citations.

Travel to Palm Springs and Temecula locations may be required; nights and weekends on a rotating 9/80 schedule are possible.

Qualifikationen

• Experience with land use, zoning and code enforcement procedures is expected.
• Knowledge of state laws and local codes governing land use is required.
• Completion of undergraduate coursework may substitute for some experience.

• Receive, record, and investigate complaints regarding non-compliance with codes.
• Contact property/business owners to conduct on-site inspections and advise on requirements.
• Document non-compliance with photos, measurements, and records; issue notices and citations when needed.
• Maintain inspection records and assist with legal actions; may testify in proceedings.
• Coordinate with related agencies on disposition of complaints.
