Job summary

City of Rialto is seeking an entry level Community Compliance Officer to perform routine duties in support of the code compliance program. The role involves inspecting properties, enforcing zoning and nuisance codes, and assisting with abatements.

You will respond to inquiries, prepare reports, and may assist in court proceedings related to code violations. A high school diploma is required; one year of related experience is desired from the public safety or planning fields.

Qualifications

• Basic methods and techniques of field inspections and investigations.
• Operations and activities of a code enforcement program.
• Municipal code investigations techniques and procedures.
• Knowledge of applicable laws, codes and regulations.

Responsibilities

• Inspects properties to ensure zoning and nuisance code compliance and conducts abatements.
• Issues notices of violation and follows up on inspections.
• Investigates nuisances and reports findings; may testify in court.
• Maintains records and prepares related reports and documents.
• Responds to citizen inquiries and resolves issues related to properties within the City.
