Salary Range: $33.81 - $33.81 Hourly

The City of Wood Dale is seeking a part‑time Code Enforcement Inspector. This is a highly visible and responsible position within the Community Development Department. The role encompasses all functions related to code enforcement activities and code case tracking. Other duties include inspection scheduling, rental housing inspections, records management, posting stop work orders, and performing diverse administrative and support activities as needed. The position often involves extensive public contact and effective coordination with contractors, architects, residents, and other City departments and staff.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required; some relevant post‑high school education preferred.
• Minimum of two (2) years of responsible code enforcement experience.
• Ability to learn the City of Wood Dale municipal code; other education or experience may be considered.
• International Code Council (ICC) Property Maintenance and Housing Inspector certification required. Preference given to applicants who already hold this certification.
• If not already certified, must obtain ICC certification within eleven (11) months of appointment.
• Self‑motivated with excellent communication and customer service skills.
• Working knowledge of computer operations and Microsoft Office suite.
• Ability to perform multiple tasks simultaneously and meet deadlines in a fast‑paced environment.
• Valid State of Illinois driver’s license with a safe driving record.

Schedule

20 hours per work week.

Salary

Current starting salary is $33.81 per hour.
