Job summary

The Town of Sahuarita is seeking a Code Compliance Officer to administer and enforce town codes, investigate complaints, conduct inspections, and manage cases from intake through resolution, coordinating with the Department of Law as needed.

This role involves field work, documentation, and testimony in hearings, with not being a peace officer. Certification within 12 months is required; valid AZ driver's license may be required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in planning, public administration, criminal justice, construction management, environmental studies, or related field.
• Two years of experience in code enforcement, zoning administration, building inspection, or related regulatory field.
• ICC/AACE/ACEA code enforcement certification due within 12 months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Administers and enforces Town codes and ordinances affecting properties.
• Investigates complaints, conducts inspections, and manages cases through resolution.
• Coordinates with internal departments and the Department of Law as needed.
• Gathers evidence, issues notices, and provides testimony in hearings or court.
