Job summary

Engineering Consulting Service is seeking a qualified building inspections professional in North Charleston, SC to conduct third party inspections across mechanical, electrical, architectural, structural, plumbing, and fire protection systems. You will also manage inspection reports and participate in project meetings and marketing activities.

The role requires strong knowledge of local codes, 5+ years of experience, and an ICC certification; a valid driver's license is required for on-site

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in code compliance inspection or plan review
• At least one ICC certification (B2, M2, P2, E2, Fire Inspector I or II) or ability to obtain within 90 days
• Valid driver’s license if driving for ECS

Responsibilities

• Perform third party electrical, mechanical, architectural, structural, plumbing, and fire safety building inspections
• Prepare and submit daily time and Inspection/Field Reports in accordance with ECS Policy
• Demonstrate extensive knowledge of state and local building code regulations, policies, and procedures
• Manage code compliance projects, including reviewing plans, providing technical support, inspections, monitoring budgets, proposal preparation, and site meetings
• Mentor and train other building inspectors
• Assist with management of P & L, and support marketing/client interactions and business development
