Job summary

The City of Woodstock Illinois is seeking a Codes Inspector in the Building and Planning - Development Services Department to ensure compliance with codes and city regulations. This full-time, hourly position handles citizen complaints, investigates violations, documents findings and takes corrective action under the direction of the Building & Planning Director.

Qualified applicants have a high school diploma, two years of code enforcement experience, and a valid driver's license;

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent with 2+ years in Code Enforcement, Building Construction, or Plan Review.
• Must have a valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
• Computer skills including word processing and data entry.

Responsibilities

• Enforce compliance with applicable codes, ordinances, rules and regulations.
• Respond to citizen complaints and investigate violations.
• Document findings and take corrective action under supervision.
