Job summary

ECS Group of Companies in North Charleston, SC is seeking an experienced building inspector to perform third party electrical, mechanical, architectural, structural, plumbing, and fire safety inspections. You will prepare daily reports and manage code compliance projects, reviewing plans and attending site meetings.

The role requires 5+ years of code compliance inspection experience or plan review, and an ICC certification is preferred or obtainable within 90 days.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 5+ years of code compliance inspection experience (mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and fire protection) or plan review preferred.
• At least one ICC certification preferred (B2, M2, P2, E2, Fire Inspector I/II) or ability to obtain within 90 days.
• Valid driver’s license required for ECS subsidiaries.

Responsibilities

• Perform third party electrical, mechanical, architectural, structural, plumbing, and fire safety building inspections.
• Prepare daily time and Inspection/Field Reports in accordance with ECS Policy.
• Demonstrate extensive knowledge of state and local building code regulations, policies, and procedures.
• Project management of code compliance projects, including reviewing plans, providing technical support, conducting inspections, and attending project site meetings.
• Assist with mentoring and training other building inspectors; support P&L management and business development.
• Participate in marketing activities to develop client relations and promote ECS services.

• Demonstrate extensive knowledge of state and local building code regulations, policies, and procedures
• This position also involves project management of code compliance projects, including reviewing plans, providing technical support, conducting inspections, monitoring project process for performance and budgetary conditions, proposal preparation, as well as attending project site meetings, and assisting with the resolution of technical and administrative problems
• In this position you may be expected to mentor and train other building inspectors
• Responsibilities also include assisting with management of P & L, marketing our services by maintaining and developing client interactions, and participating in marketing and business development functions related to code inspections
