A day in this roleYou start your shift by reviewing engineering drawings and work instructions, planning how each metal component will come together. You build or adjust a fixture, set up your TIG or MIG equipment, and select the right consumables for aluminum, carbon steel, or stainless. With careful attention to detail, you run precise beads, verify measurements, and check your work against blueprints to hit spec the first time.Throughout the day, you move between fabrication and welding, using manual metalworking tools to prep edges, deburr, and fit. You collaborate with the sheet metal department when they need a hand and pitch in across manufacturing as priorities shift.
