Job summary

The 106 Jefferson Hotel in Huntsville, Alabama is seeking a friendly Cocktail Server to deliver prompt, courteous food and beverage service in the Lounge. You will greet guests, take drink orders, know beverage menus, and assist with special requests while upholding service standards.

Requirements include a high school diploma or equivalent, 3–6 months in food/beverage service, ability to lift 20–40 lbs, and a professional appearance.

Responsibilities

Remains attentive to the guest throughout the entire Lounge experience, adhering to or exceeding service standards as established by the Lounge.* Accurately record and enter all food (where applicable) and beverage items.* Knowledge of all beverage menus, brand selections, prices and garnishes.* Responsible for Lounge setup to include but not limited to replenishing snacks, emptying ashtrays, controlling recorded music, ambience or busing tables.* Maximize sales by using menu knowledge and suggestive selling techniques.* Conduct self in a professional manner with the awareness that all actions and communications are within guest view.* Maintain cleanliness of lounge and service areas and ensure work area is orderly and properly stocked.* Responsible for collecting accurate payment from the guest and depositing the exact amount of sales. Ensure a reasonable effort is made in preventing a guest from being intoxicated.* Maintain appearance and uniform standards.* Develop and maintain positive communication and teamwork with all co-workers and supervisors.* Handle all guest service issues in an immediate and professional manner.* Perform other duties as assigned, requested or deemed necessary by management.**REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES*** High school education or equivalent experience.* Three - Six months in a food/beverage services environment or establishment.* Must have vision ability to clearly see detailed guest checks, computer print outs, written instructions and to observe entire restaurant in dimly lit conditions.* Must have manual coordination to punch buttons, grasp items in hand, and to balance and carry trays loaded with food and beverages.* Able to read, speak and understand English. Able to lift, push, carry 20 - 40 lbs. Stand continuously for long periods of time.* Communicate information and hotel services to management, staff and guests.
