Job Description
This position as a Cocktail Server is for a passionate food service professional dedicated to providing an exceptional guest experience.
- Maintain complete knowledge of and comply with all departmental policies, service procedures, and standards (e.g., FAME, LQA guidelines).
- Ensure proper maintenance and use of equipment, using it only as intended.
- Anticipate guests’ needs, respond promptly, and acknowledge all guests, regardless of busyness or time of day.
- Maintain positive guest relations at all times.
- Be familiar with all hotel services, features, and local attractions to respond accurately to guest inquiries.
- Resolve guest complaints to ensure satisfaction.
- Monitor and maintain cleanliness, sanitation, and organization of work areas.
- Maintain complete knowledge of all menu items, liquor brands, beers, and non-alcoholic beverages available.
- Understand the characteristics and descriptions of wines and champagnes by the glass and major wines on the list.
- Know the specific glassware and garnishes for each drink.
- Follow all state liquor regulations, especially regarding service to minors, intoxicated persons, and drunk driving.
- Be familiar with table/seat/station numbers, setup, room capacity, hours, menus, pricing, and dress code of the outlet.
- Manage assigned bank and ensure accuracy of transactions; keep the bank secure.
- Maintain knowledge of POS (MICROS) and manual systems.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent vocational training.
- Minimum age of 18 to serve alcohol.
- At least 1 year of experience as a Cocktail Server, Food Server, or Host/Hostess.
- Fluency in English, both verbal and non-verbal.
- Experience in bartending and cash handling.
- Certification in alcohol awareness.
- Training certification in liquor, wine, and food service.
- Food handling certification.
- CPR certification.
- Ability to communicate clearly and legibly.
- Proficiency in property management systems, computers, and POS systems.
- Basic arithmetic skills.
