Job Description

This position as a Cocktail Server is for a passionate food service professional dedicated to providing an exceptional guest experience.

  1. Maintain complete knowledge of and comply with all departmental policies, service procedures, and standards (e.g., FAME, LQA guidelines).
  2. Ensure proper maintenance and use of equipment, using it only as intended.
  3. Anticipate guests’ needs, respond promptly, and acknowledge all guests, regardless of busyness or time of day.
  4. Maintain positive guest relations at all times.
  5. Be familiar with all hotel services, features, and local attractions to respond accurately to guest inquiries.
  6. Resolve guest complaints to ensure satisfaction.
  7. Monitor and maintain cleanliness, sanitation, and organization of work areas.
  8. Maintain complete knowledge of all menu items, liquor brands, beers, and non-alcoholic beverages available.
  9. Understand the characteristics and descriptions of wines and champagnes by the glass and major wines on the list.
  10. Know the specific glassware and garnishes for each drink.
  11. Follow all state liquor regulations, especially regarding service to minors, intoxicated persons, and drunk driving.
  12. Be familiar with table/seat/station numbers, setup, room capacity, hours, menus, pricing, and dress code of the outlet.
  13. Manage assigned bank and ensure accuracy of transactions; keep the bank secure.
  14. Maintain knowledge of POS (MICROS) and manual systems.
Qualifications
  1. High school diploma or equivalent vocational training.
  2. Minimum age of 18 to serve alcohol.
  3. At least 1 year of experience as a Cocktail Server, Food Server, or Host/Hostess.
  4. Fluency in English, both verbal and non-verbal.
  5. Experience in bartending and cash handling.
  6. Certification in alcohol awareness.
  7. Training certification in liquor, wine, and food service.
  8. Food handling certification.
  9. CPR certification.
  10. Ability to communicate clearly and legibly.
  11. Proficiency in property management systems, computers, and POS systems.
  12. Basic arithmetic skills.
