Job summary

Ray's Market Cafe in the Trenton Farmers Market is hiring a part-time short-order cook to work Thursday through Sunday, including early morning shifts.

You will prepare breakfast, lunch, and daily specials, operate grill and fryer safely, maintain a clean, sanitary workstation, monitor portion sizes and presentation, restock ingredients, and communicate with front-of-house staff to ensure timely order fulfillment while complying with health codes.

• Prior experience as a short-order cook, line cook, or in a fast-paced kitchen environment.

About the Role:

Requirements:

• Prior experience as a short-order cook, line cook, or in a fast-paced kitchen environment is preferred
• Ability to work quickly and accurately during high-volume periods
• Knowledge of basic food prep, cooking techniques, and kitchen equipment
• Strong understanding of food safety, sanitation, and proper handling procedures
• Reliable, punctual, and able to work early morning, weekend, or holiday shifts as needed
• Ability to stand for extended periods and be able to lift 50 pounds
• Team-oriented attitude with strong communication skills
