Job summary

General Motors Company is seeking a Manufacturing Automation Engineer—Cobots to lead end-to-end automation initiatives across GPS manufacturing sites. You will identify processes for automation, evaluate cobots and other technologies, and drive projects from concept through launch and sustainment.

The role requires travel up to 50% or more, leading supplier and integrator selections, and delivering safe, high‑quality, cost-effective solutions.

Qualifications

• BS in a relevant engineering discipline with 5+ years manufacturing experience.
• Experience leading projects from concept to launch in a plant or launch environment.
• Experience implementing, launching, optimizing, or sustaining manufacturing equipment and processes.

Responsibilities

• Lead turnkey automation projects from concept through launch and sustainment.
• Identify, evaluate, and implement automation technologies (cobots, robots, vision, sensors).
• Develop scopes, technical specs, plans, and risk management for projects.
• Coordinate with cross-functional teams, suppliers, and OEMs to deliver results.
