Job summary

Custom Manufacturing & Engineering, Inc. (CME) in Pinellas Park, FL, is seeking a Computing Engineer/Software Developer to build cobot control integrations, AI/ML apps, and GUI tools for manufacturing and inspection environments.

You will work with UR eSeries cobots, simulation platforms, and cutting-edge AI/ML tools to deploy scalable solutions, design robust APIs, data pipelines, and data-driven dashboards that improve automation and product quality.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer/Software Engineering, Data Science, or related field.
• 1–4 years of programming experience in Python, C++, R, Java.
• Familiarity with ML frameworks and libraries listed.
• Experience with data processing and databases.
• Experience with MLOps and deployment tools like Docker, Kubernetes, MLflow, and cloud platforms.
• Strong background in scalable software design, API development, and testing practices.
• Bonus: experience with recommendation systems, pattern recognition, or large-scale software architectures.

Responsibilities

• Internally develop and support enhancements to in-house software applications/tools.
• Full-stack development for AI/ML applications, deploying and integrating models into user-facing apps.
• Develop and deploy ML models (LLMs, CNNs, GANs, ResNets) for computer vision and ERP/operations use cases.
• Design and maintain robust API interfaces connecting AI/ML platforms with ERP and other enterprise software.
• Build scalable data pipelines to ingest, transform, and sync data between ML models and external APIs.
• Design cobot applications, multi-cobot workstations, and simulation environments.
• Build scalable GUIs and reusable software components for data pipelines and dashboards.
• Analyze and optimize code for performance, reliability, and maintainability.
• Collaborate across engineering, manufacturing, and management to deliver end-to-end solutions.
• Support or lead small team technical proposals and guidance on automation and ML projects.
