Responsibilities

Peraton Health, State and Local Sector is seeking aSoftware Development, Lead Associate to join us in supporting and maintaining the Medicare Fee For Service claims processing system. In this role, you will be a senior technical contributor on an Agile team providing maintenance and operations support for the Medicare Durable Medical Equipment(DME) contract.

As aSoftwareDevelopment, Lead Associate, you willyou will work within a highly structured and rigorous development environment that follows theSAFeAgile/Scrum framework. This role focuses onhandling project coordination and technical design to hands-on coding, unit testing, and defect resolutionacrossfunctional areasof themainframelegacyDME system.

Quality is vital to this mission,the rolewill build and executeunit test plans, test cases, and test dataincluding COBOL and Assembler components.This rolewill also handle installing changes into internal testing regions,troubleshootingandresolving defects,identifyingprocess improvements, andkeepingtechnical documentationcurrent.Additionaly, thisLead Associaterole will betranslating customer goalsand requirementsinto actionableworkitems for the team, whileserving as a technical resource and mentor todevelopers.

Responsibilities:

  • Design, codes,and unit tests, and debugsenhancementsand fixesto the health claims processing systemwhile adhering to strict coding standards.
  • Participates as aseniormember of a persistentAgiledevelopment teamsupporting maintenance and operations.
  • Leads and completes developmentofcomplex componentswithin the mainframe environment.
  • Workswith minimal direction, exercisingindependent judgement on technical approaches and solutions.
  • Leads andparticipatesin design activities,providingtechnical guidance on maintenance solutions.
  • Demonstratesadvanceduse and application ofdevelopmentconcepts, practices, and techniques.
  • Designs,preparesand executes unit tests;representsteam to clientson technical matters.
  • Provides solutions to awidevariety ofcomplex technicalproblems.
  • Contributes to strategictechnicaldirectionofthe developmentteams.
  • Applies technical knowledge todelivermaintenance solutions acrossmultipletechnology areaswith minimal direction.
  • Implements end-user and enterprise solutions of high complexity with minimal direction.
  • Integratesdeeptechnicalexpertiseand business understanding todeliverstable, reliablesolutions for clients.
  • Consults with team members and other organizations,clientsand vendors on complextechnical issues.
  • Provides timeandresource estimates for assignedtasks andprojects.
  • Developssolutions to complex business and technology problems in areas of provenexpertise.
  • Mentors andprovidestechnical guidance to junior and mid-level developers on the team.
Qualifications
  • Education & Experience:BS/BA with6+yearsof relevant experience; orMasterswith 4 years of relevant experience; or HSdiplomawith10+years experience.
  • 6+years of mainframe development experiencein production or maintenance environment.
  • Proficiencywith mainframe technologiesincluding COBOL, JCL, CICS, TSO and VSAM.
  • Knowledge of health care claims processing, particularly Medicare Fee for Service.
  • Abilityto perform well in a highly rigorousstructureddevelopment environment.
  • Demonstratedexperience as aseniorsoftware developer in a mainframe environment.
  • Demonstratedability todetermineand decompose businessand technicalrequirements.
  • Application lifecyclemethodologyexperience,specifically Agile/SCRUM
  • Strong communicationskills and technical writingability.
  • Ability to develop application project solutions and estimating.
  • Experience with Medicare Part A, Medicare Part B,DMEor Medicare Common Working File (CWF) specific processing systems.
  • Experience working withor in supportofCMSprograms and contracts.
  • Experience with DevOps/DevSecOpstools and frameworks through plan, define, build, test, release and deploy process.
  • Familiarity with development andcollaborationtools: GitHub, Jira, Confluence, Eclipse (IDz/RDz)
  • SAFeexperience and/or certification.
  • Must be able to achieveandmaintainaPublicTrust clearance.
  • Must be a US Citizen.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience withAssemblerlanguage in a mainframe environment.
  • Familiarity with development and collaboration tools:GitHub, Jira, Confluence, Eclipse (IDz/RDz).
  • Exposure to modern languages such asJava or Python.

Target Salary Range

$112,000 - $179,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position. Salary is determined by various factors, including but not limited to, the scope and responsibilities of the position, the individual’s experience, education, knowledge, skills, and competencies, as well as geographic location and business and contract considerations. Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay.
