Position Title – Cobol Programming Developer

Hourly Rate: USD 50.00 /hr - USD 55.00 /hr

Contract Duration: 6 months

Location: Remote

Job Summary

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Business, Computer Science or equivalent work experience required. Equivalent years of experience are determined as one year of technical experience for every year of college experience required.
• 1+ years' experience with information technology concepts, application development methodology, terminology, and standards required.
• 5+ years' systems and programming experience required.
• Expert working knowledge of COBOL programming language.

Skills and Certifications

• Proven skill with mainframe information technology is required.
• Strong analysis, design, and coding skills with success in leading large and complex projects.
• Ability to translate technical projects into functional applications.
• Exceptional interpersonal skills to collaborate with both technical and non-technical team members.
• Highly adaptable with the ability to manage multiple tasks and demonstrate a strong work ethic.

• Understanding of Mainframe COBOL and basic financial processes.

Responsibilities

• Lead planning, analysis, design, development, testing, deployment, and maintenance of web-based systems or modifications.
• Research emerging technologies to optimize system requirements such as capacity, quality, and response time.
• Develop detailed specifications based on business needs.
• Support production applications with tasks like troubleshooting, performance tuning, and backup/recovery procedures.
• Collaborate with IT staff, software engineers, database administrators, vendors, etc., to support systems and applications.
