Job description
  • Design, develop, and maintain COBOL applications supporting large-scale, transaction-intensive systems
  • Analyze and modify legacy programs to improve performance, reliability, and scalability
  • Troubleshoot and resolve production issues in high-availability environments
  • Assist with system upgrades, enhancements, and modernization initiatives
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including product, QA, and operations
  • Participate in code reviews and documentation efforts
Day to Day Responsibilities
  • Support mission-critical enterprise payment and financial transaction platforms
  • Work with existing core applications while contributing to modernization initiatives
  • Address production defects and operational issues as they arise
  • Coordinate with distributed team members in a remote environment
  • Participate in planning sessions and critical project phases
  • Travel occasionally for in-person collaboration and project needs
Preferred Experience and Attributes
  • Experience developing and maintaining COBOL applications
  • Experience working in mainframe or enterprise environments
  • Working knowledge of JCL, CICS, and DB2
  • Experience supporting high-volume, transaction-based systems
  • Exposure to financial services, payments, or banking systems
  • Strong problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work independently in a remote setting
