Job summary

System Soft Technologies is seeking a seasoned Mainframe/COBOL professional in the United States to design, develop, test, and support critical batch programs and large-scale enterprise applications. You will work with JCL, DB2/SQL, and Unix-based environments to troubleshoot production issues and implement changes in a controlled SDLC process.

The role requires strong problem-solving skills, collaboration with external vendors, and a track record of delivering reliable batch processing

Qualifications

Hands-on COBOL/Mainframe development experience.
Strong JCL and batch processing knowledge.
Experience in AIX/Unix environments.
Shell/Unix scripting and batch processing.
Strong DB2/SQL knowledge.
Experience with mainframe utilities and production support processes.
Proficient at troubleshooting batch jobs and production issues.
Understanding of app development lifecycle, testing, deployment, and change management.
Experience working with large-scale enterprise applications.

Responsibilities

Develop, test, and maintain mainframe COBOL applications.
Analyze and resolve batch job failures and production incidents.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams and vendors on interfaces and data loads.
Support deployment and change management activities for mainframe systems.
Contribute to performance tuning and problem diagnosis in production.
