Job summary

MasTec Communications Group is seeking a Coax Splicer to join our field team and help expand our network with high-quality splicing, testing, and activation work. You will splice, sweep, troubleshoot coaxial cable and contribute to node optimization while upgrading plant and supporting new construction in outdoor environments.

The role emphasizes safe, hands-on problem solving, with opportunities to read designs, work with RF meters and TDRs, and participate in a variety of shifts with overtime.

Qualifications

• 1–3 years of splicing and sweeping experience.
• Comfortable working on ladders or bucket trucks.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to obtain a DOT Medical Card.
• Strong commitment to safety and quality workmanship.

Responsibilities

• Splice, sweep, and troubleshoot coaxial cable (aerial and underground).
• Upgrade existing plant; support node splits and new construction.
• Read CATV design prints and perform RF testing and activation.
• Work at outdoor utility sites with flexible shifts and overtime.
