Job summary

Bigham Cable Construction is seeking a Coax Splicer to join our telecommunications team. You will splice coax networks for internet, cable TV and phone services, performing aerial and underground work on-site in Tennessee.

You’ll test, activate and troubleshoot after installation, ensuring quality and safety. A valid driver’s license, DOT medical card, and 18+ eligibility are required, with prior coax splicing or telecom experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Six months of coax splicing experience or one year of experience in the telecommunications industry.
• High School Diploma, GED equivalent, or relevant work experience.
• Valid State driver's license with a clean driving record.
• Must pass a DOT physical exam and obtain a valid medical card.
• Authorization to work in the United States for the company.

Responsibilities

• With guidance, perform cable upgrades and splicing tasks, both aerial and underground.
• Test, activate, and troubleshoot equipment post-installation.
• Ensure all splicing operations meet customer and industry standards.
• Safely navigate work at different heights, from underground to in the air.
• Complete basic daily maintenance of vehicles, including fluid checks.
• Document work through daily production reports, map marking and material usage records.
