Bigham Cable Construction, Inc. is seeking a field-oriented Coax Splicer to splice, test, and install coaxial cable systems for residential and commercial projects in Hickory, NC. You will repair, maintain, and upgrade networks while prioritizing accuracy, safety, and quality workmanship.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Six months coax splicing experience or one year telecom industry experience.
• DOT medical exam required and a valid medical card.
• Valid State driver’s license with clean driving record.

Responsibilities

• Splice, terminate, and install coaxial cables for new construction, maintenance, and repair projects.
• Troubleshoot signal issues using meters, sweep gear, and testing equipment.
• Read maps, prints, and system documents to complete field work accurately.
• Perform cutovers, upgrades, and system restorations while protecting network performance.
• Understand RF signal flow, noise mitigation, and cable system standards.
• Maintain detailed documentation of work performed, materials used, and test results.
• Communicate with supervisors, field teams, and customers as needed.
• Work safely in aerial and underground environments; climb ladders and work at heights.
