Job summary

AkzoNobel in Waukegan, IL is seeking an experienced Production Team Leader to guide our manufacturing shift. You will lead, assign daily work, monitor processes, and coach staff to meet safety, quality, productivity, and schedule targets on the production floor.

This hands-on role requires a strong focus on safety, teamwork, and continuous improvement. You will collaborate with Quality, Maintenance, and Warehouse teams while fostering a compliant, inclusive work environment with opportunities

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Minimum 2 years of manufacturing experience.
• Previous team-lead or supervisor experience preferred.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to prioritize work and adapt to changing production needs.
• Commitment to safety and quality in production.

Responsibilities

• Provide day-to-day leadership and direction to production employees during the shift.
• Assign daily work and coordinate production activities based on priorities.
• Monitor processes and identify safety, quality, productivity concerns.
• Coach employees in following work instructions and procedures.
• Reinforce safety, quality, productivity, and housekeeping expectations.
• Troubleshoot production issues and escalate when needed.
• Monitor labor and resources to meet shift targets.
• Support achievement of production schedules and performance goals.
• Provide updates on shift performance and handoffs to supervisors.
• Promote teamwork and cross-functional communication with other shifts.
