Job summary

Axalta Coating Systems is seeking a Manufacturing Area Engineer for its Front Royal, VA facility. The role focuses on leading site engineering activities, coordinating mechanical, process, and electrical design, and guiding construction management for coatings production projects.

The position requires a Mechanical or Chemical Engineering background with experience in plant projects and strong communication skills. Benefits include health insurance and paid time off.

Qualifications

• Mechanical or Chemical Engineering degree preferred or 5 years of relevant project engineering experience.
• Industrial plant experience in chemical processing preferred.
• Good communication and presentation skills (oral and written).
• Good interpersonal and conflict resolution skills with the ability to influence managers, peers, and maintenance team.

Responsibilities

• Work with site engineering & maintenance resources to develop scope and objectives.
• Follow process and identify phases and design requirements.
• Develop estimates including equipment, construction and commissioning cost.
• Provide leadership through the approval process.
• Coordinate Mechanical, Process & Electrical design with in-house and contracted resources.
• Assist with providing daily construction management support.
• Maintain project design and commissioning documentation.
