Job summary

Axalta is seeking an Engineering Manager at the Mt Clemens, MI facility to lead all engineering functions and ensure safe, reliable operations. The role partners with Operations, Maintenance, EH&S and Quality to deliver operational excellence and regulatory compliance.

You will drive capital project execution, process optimization, and long‑term site strategy while developing a high‑performing team and fostering a safety‑first culture in a manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (Chemical, Mechanical, Electrical preferred).
• 7+ years of progressive engineering experience, including leadership responsibility.
• Demonstrated experience in chemical or manufacturing environments.
• Proven ability to lead teams and influence across functions.
• Strong experience with: PSM / PHA processes, Capital project execution, Budget management.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop a high-performing engineering team across multiple disciplines to deliver site goals.
• Provide technical leadership to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient plant operations and asset performance.
• Own Process Safety Management and regulatory compliance activities (PSM, OSHA, environmental).
• Manage the site capital plan and project execution from concept to commissioning.
• Drive Lean, Six Sigma and continuous improvement initiatives to improve cost, reliability and quality.
• Collaborate with Operations, Maintenance, Quality and EH&S to support production performance and safety.
