Job summary

Construction Material Testing is seeking a Coatings Inspector II to lead coating and lining inspections on industrial, water, and infrastructure projects. You will plan hold points, verify prep, application, and cure, and sign off at each stage; perform adhesion and holiday tests, resolve nonconformances, and write inspection reports relied upon by owners and engineers.

Requires AMPP/NACE CIP Level 2 with 2+ years of inspection experience, knowledge of SSPC/NACE standards, and experience on

Qualifications

• AMPP (NACE) CIP Level 2 certification, current, with 2+ years inspecting under it.
• Command of SSPC/NACE surface preparation standards and common industrial coating systems.
• Experience on tank, pipeline, water/wastewater, or structural steel coating projects.
• Ability to stop an application out of specification and document it so it closes.

Responsibilities

• Plan inspection hold points and testing from the coating specification and the manufacturer's data.
• Verify surface preparation, application, and cure with sign-off authority at each hold point.
• Perform adhesion, holiday, and cure testing.
• Dispositon defects and specify repairs.
• Supervise Level 1 inspectors on larger projects and review their logs.
• Write inspection and nonconformance reports.
• Represent the inspection program to the owner and applicator.
