Job summary

Construction Material Testing is seeking a Coatings Inspector II to lead coating inspections on industrial, water, and infrastructure projects. You will plan hold points, verify surface prep, application, cure, and perform adhesion tests with sign-off authority.

Role requires CIP Level 2 certification with 2+ years of experience, SSPC/NACE standards knowledge, and ability to supervise Level 1 inspectors. Travel and scheduling considerations apply.

Qualifications

• AMPP (NACE) CIP Level 2 certification (current)
• 2+ years inspecting under CIP Level 2
• Strong knowledge of SSPC/NACE surface preparation standards
• Experience on tank linings, pipeline coatings, or structural steel coatings

Responsibilities

• Plan inspection hold points and perform testing per coating specification and manufacturer's data
• Verify surface preparation, application, and cure with sign-off authority at each hold point
• Perform adhesion and holiday testing and disposition defects
• Supervise Level 1 inspectors on larger projects and review their logs
• Write inspection and nonconformance reports for owner/engineer
