Job summary

Construction Material Testing is seeking a Coatings Inspector I to perform basic inspection of protective coating work under the guidance of a CIP Level 2 or 3 inspector. You will verify surface preparation against SSPC/NACE standards, measure ambient conditions, and document every step on tanks, structural steel, pipe, and concrete.

The role requires an AMPP CIP Level 1 certification and at least 1 year of industrial coatings inspection experience, with comfort around tanks, blasting, and spray

Qualifications

• AMPP CIP Level 1 certification current.
• 1+ years in industrial coatings application or inspection.
• Able to work around tanks, structures, blasting and spray operations.

Responsibilities

• Measure and record ambient conditions before and during application.
• Verify surface preparation to SSPC/NACE cleanliness and profile standard.
• Measure wet film and dry film thickness; check holidays and defects.
• Verify coating materials, batch numbers, mixing, and pot life.
• Keep the daily coating inspection log and photograph each stage.
