Job summary

Construction Material Testing seeks a Coatings Inspector I to perform basic inspections of protective coating work under supervision. You will verify surface preparation per SSPC/NACE standards, measure ambient conditions, and document coating applications on tanks, structural steel, pipe, and concrete.

The role requires AMPP CIP Level 1 certification, current, and at least 1 year of coatings experience. Daily logs, photos, and travel to project sites will be part of the routine.

Qualifications

• AMPP CIP Level 1 certification current.
• 1+ years in industrial coatings application or inspection.
• Comfortable around tanks, blasting, and spray operations.
• Meticulous with instruments and records.

Responsibilities

• Measure and record ambient conditions before and during application.
• Verify surface preparation to SSPC/NACE cleanliness and profile standards.
• Measure wet and dry film thickness and check for holidays and defects.
• Maintain daily coating inspection log and photograph each stage.
