Job summary

Construction Material Testing seeks a Coatings Inspector I to perform basic inspection of protective coating work under the direction of CIP Level 2/3 inspectors. You will verify surface preparation, measure ambient conditions, and document coating application on tanks, structural steel, pipe, and concrete.

Qualifications include current AMPP CIP Level 1 certification and 1+ year in industrial coatings inspection.

Qualifications

• AMPP CIP Level 1 certification (current).
• 1+ year in industrial coatings application or inspection.
• Comfort working around tanks, blasting and spray operations.

Responsibilities

• Measure and record ambient conditions before and during application.
• Verify surface preparation to SSPC/NACE standards.
• Measure wet and dry film thickness and check for holidays/defects.
• Verify coating materials, batch numbers, mixing, and pot life.
• Maintain daily coating inspection log and photograph each stage.
