Construction Material Testing seeks a Coatings Inspector I to inspect protective coating work under a CIP Level 2/3 inspector, verify surface prep to SSPC/NACE, and document every step on tanks, structures, pipes and concrete.

The role requires AMPP CIP Level 1 certification, 1+ year in coatings, comfort around blasting operations, meticulous record-keeping, and honesty about readings. Pay is $30–$40/hr with variable schedules and site travel as needed.

Qualifications

• AMPP (NACE) CIP Level 1 certification, current.
• 1+ years in industrial coatings application or inspection.
• Comfortable working in tanks, on structures, and around blasting and spray operations.
• Meticulous with instruments and records; honest readings.

Responsabilités

• Measure and record ambient conditions before and during application.
• Verify surface preparation to SSPC/NACE cleanliness and profile.
• Measure wet film and dry film thickness; check holidays/defects.
• Verify coating materials, batch numbers, mixing, and pot life against the data sheet.
• Keep the daily coating inspection log and photograph each stage.
