Job summary

PPS Coating is seeking an experienced Coating & Sandblaster Foreman to lead a field crew performing abrasive blasting, surface preparation, and coating applications on water storage tanks and industrial structures. This hands-on leadership role involves overseeing daily production, equipment setup, and safety, while maintaining quality standards.

The ideal candidate has strong blasting and coating experience and can manage work in confined spaces and demanding field environments.

Qualifications

• Understanding QA/QC requirements, inspections, and documentation.

• Effective communication with crew, management, and suppliers.

Responsibilities

• Lead field crew performing abrasive blasting, surface preparation, and coating applications.
• Oversee daily production, equipment setup, surface prep, coatings, quality, and safety.
• Attend pre-job meetings to review project specifics, budgets, and expectations.
• Monitor progress, stay within budget and timelines.
• Plan and direct coating operations and allocate time to tasks.
• Set crew goals based on estimated rates and productivity.
• Order equipment and materials; obtain POs for rentals.
• Collaborate with Superintendent, PM, and suppliers.
• Provide weekly updates on equipment, materials, and manpower.
• Conduct weekly truck and equipment inspections.
• Work may include weekends and overtime.

Job description

We are looking for an experienced Coating & Sandblaster Foreman to lead a field crew performing abrasive blasting, surface preparation, and coating applications on water storage tanks and other industrial structures.

This is a hands-on leadership position. The Foreman will work alongside the crew while overseeing daily production, equipment setup, surface preparation, coating activities, quality, and jobsite safety. The ideal candidate has strong blasting and coating experience and understands how to successfully manage work in confined spaces and demanding field environments.

Responsibilities:

• Adhere to PPS Coating's safety policies, including PPE, meetings, and JSA's.
• Submit time.
• Complete daily QC documentation and perform QC prior to QA inspections.
• Familiarize yourself with project specifications & attend pre-job meetings to review project specifics, budgets, and expectations.
• Monitor project progress, staying within budget and timelines.
• Plan and direct coating operations.
• Set and support worker goals based on estimated product rates.
• Order equipment and materials in advance.
• Obtain POs for rentals and materials.
• Collaborate with the Superintendent, Project Manager, and suppliers.
• Provide weekly equipment, material, and manpower updates to the superintendent.
• Conduct weekly truck and equipment inspections.
• Work may consist of weekends and overtime.
