Job summary

Fort Wayne Metals is seeking a Coating Line Operator for the 3rd shift. The role involves operating coating systems to meet customer specifications and supporting equipment evaluation and validation.

You will perform in-process checks, inspect incoming wire, prepare samples, and troubleshoot to improve efficiency and product quality. Requirements include a high school diploma, plus production experience preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalency required.
• Experience in a production or assembly environment preferred.

Responsibilities

• Operate coating systems to meet production orders and customer specs.
• Conduct in-process checks of coated wire for centering, surface conditions, coating adhesion and thickness.
• Inspect incoming wire for suitability and communicate issues to source department.
• Prepare samples from work-in-process for shipping to customers.
• Troubleshoot and improve processes to enhance efficiency and quality.
• Assemble/disassemble extrusion and polyimide machines as needed.
• Maintain cleanliness of tooling and perform routine equipment maintenance.
• Support validation of new equipment/processes and communicate results to engineers.
