Job summary

Central Plains Steel, a division of Feralloy, is seeking a dependable Coil Line Operator to support plant operations by safely handling materials, fulfilling orders, and maintaining an organized work environment.

Schedule: Monday–Friday, 2:30pm – 11:00pm 5 Days (8-hour shifts) Pay: $17–$20/hr + $5 shift differential. The role involves advanced production activities on our decoil line and requires attention to safety and quality standards.

Qualifications

• Valid Driver's License required.
• 0-5 years of relevant experience or equivalent.
• Adequate manual dexterity and coordination.
• Ability to read and understand written instructions.
• Basic measurement and arithmetic skills for basic math computations.
• Ability to multi-task and manage time effectively.
• Ability to lift up to 100 pounds occasionally and 60 pounds repetitively.
• Ability to stand for extended periods and push/pull heavy loads.
• Willingness to obtain certification to operate material handling equipment.
• Basic computer proficiency for documentation.

Responsibilities

• Perform basic, routine tasks on the coil line with guidance.
• Review work orders and specs to determine processing parameters.
• Operate controls to set cutting speed and feed rates.
• Use calipers and micrometers to verify tolerances.
• Move materials using forklift/crane and complete required paperwork.
• Maintain safe, clean work area and comply with safety standards.
• Report irregularities to supervisor and participate in quality checks.
