Job summary

TrueNorth Steel in Billings, MT is seeking a skilled worker for painting, sandblasting and coating applications on exterior and interior surfaces. You will follow safety and quality policies while performing surface prep, coating application and product inspection to meet specs.

The role requires handling materials, operating a forklift and an overhead crane, with overtime and weekend flexibility as needed. Training in SDS, product data sheets and proper techniques is provided.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of painting/sandblasting/coating experience.
• Ability to read SDS and Product Data Sheets.
• Willing to work overtime and weekends as needed.
• Safe and quality-focused with attention to detail.

Responsibilities

Description

SHIFT: Monday - Thursday, 4:15 pm - 3:45 am (Frequent OT on Fridays)

PAY RATE: $20.40 - $23.00+ per hour (DOE) + $2 shift differential pay + Full Benefits Package

SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITIES

This position is responsible for various application processes on the exterior and interior of the products that we produce. These processes include; surface preparation, sandblasting, application of coatings and inspection of finished products all while meeting customer and/or our internal quality specifications.

ESSENTIALJOB FUNCTIONS

• Follows all company Safety and Quality policies.
• Be trained in surface preparations using blast and solvent cleaning processes and application of coatings products.
• Establish knowledge of how to read Safety Data Sheets (SDS) and Product Data Sheets.
• Able to follow verbal or simple written instructions and procedures. .
• Assist in the loading/unloading of product onto flatbeds/trailers.
• Operate fork lift and overhead crane.
• Willing to work flexible hours that includes overtime and weekends as needed.
• Prompt and dependable attendance.
• Other duties as assigned.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND QUALITIES

• Basic understanding of hand tools and application techniques
• Basic knowledge of substrate prep for painting
• Successfully pass application qualification training

EDUCATION AND WORK EXPERIENCE

• 2 years or more of painting/sandblasting/coating preferred
