Job summary

Ocean Beach Health seeks a Materials Management Manager to oversee procurement, inventory, and supply chains across the hospital and clinics. You will manage vendor relationships, ensure cost‑effective purchasing, and support departments with timely supply management under CEO supervision.

You will maintain PAR levels, lead the Product Evaluation Committee, and drive interdepartmental communication to uphold patient‑centered care and fiscal responsibility.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or 3–5 years of management experience in a healthcare facility.
• Strong analytical skills to evaluate suppliers and determine best value.
• Effective decision‑making skills with the ability to select needed products efficiently.
• Solid math skills for comparing pricing and ensuring cost‑effective purchasing.
• Excellent negotiating skills, interpersonal confidence, and vendor communication abilities.
• Valid driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Directing procurement, inventory control, receiving, storage, distribution, and mail transport.
• Reviewing and approving purchase orders and non-stock requests.
• Maintaining relationships with departments to understand specifications and supply needs.
• Negotiating contracts and serving as primary contact for vendors and distributors.
• Providing administrative support to the CFO with reports, budgets, and utilization analyses.
• Managing PAR level systems and ensuring adequate supplies.
• Leading product evaluations and coordinating product assessments.
• Ensuring safe practices for receiving hazardous substances and MSDS.
• Coordinating leases for large‑ticket items and maintaining emergency sources.
• Interviewing sales reps and soliciting proposals for supplies and equipment.
• Supervising staff with hiring, training, coaching, and evaluations.
• Contributing to patient‑centered care, safety, and financial stewardship.
