Job summary

University of Florida is seeking a highly qualified candidate for a 9-month tenure-accruing Assistant Professor position in the School of Forest, Fisheries and Geomatics Sciences.

The faculty member will teach two courses, one undergraduate in aquatic science and a graduate course in their specialization, while developing an externally funded research program using remote sensing and geospatial analytics to advance marine resource management.

Qualifications

• Doctorate in remote sensing, fisheries/ocean sciences, geography, or geomatics.
• Demonstrated skills in applying remote sensing and geospatial analysis to aquatic resources.
• Ability to work in interdisciplinary teams and secure extramural funding.

Responsibilities

• Teach undergraduate and graduate courses in aquatic science and geomatics.
• Develop and lead a funded, externally supported research program in remote sensing and geospatial analytics.
• Engage in Extension activities and supervise graduate and undergraduate research.
