We are seeking a dynamic scholar, educator, and communicator for a 12‑month Assistant/Associate Professor position focused on coastal wetlands and wildlife ecology. The appointment is primarily teaching (60%) with courses in Wetland Wildlife Ecology, Wildlife of Florida, Wildlife of Florida Lab, and optional courses such as Wildlife Habitat Management and Wildlife Techniques.
The faculty member will also conduct applied research on the conservation and management of coastal systems, with an emphasis on wetlands in Florida’s panhandle. The research agenda should develop a recognized, externally‑funded program addressing wetland and coastal wildlife species, habitat restoration, impacts of global change, ecosystem services, and international conservation initiatives.
The role supports undergraduate and graduate education, including chairing and serving on graduate student committees, supervising thesis and dissertation research, and publishing with students. Faculty are encouraged to participate in the Honors Program, distance education, and international education initiatives.
