Job summary

Encore Dredging Partners, LLC is seeking an experienced Deck Captain to lead the crew on production dredging projects along the Texas Coastal region in Port Lavaca, TX. The role requires reliable leadership, safety oversight, and hands-on supervision of dredge operations full-time.

You will manage the crew, monitor equipment, ensure compliance with safety policies, and coordinate with the chief and captain on maintenance and moves, with a typical 14 days on / 7 days off rotation.

Qualifications

• Requires proven leadership in dredging or similar heavy equipment environments.
• Demonstrates commitment to safety and injury-free work practices.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to troubleshoot equipment issues.
• Ability to manage crew, schedules, and safety protocols on site.

Responsibilities

• Upholds injury-free workplace by leading safe practices.
• Enforces safety rules and company policies for crew and equipment.
• Supervises dredge operations, crew, and equipment for maximum efficiency.
• Reviews logs and maintenance records; coordinates repairs and planning under captain.
• Assists planning and executing moves under captain's supervision.
• Assists with inventory, supplies, and housekeeping of equipment.
• Performs other duties as assigned by the dredge captain.
