Job summary

Foth, a 100% member-owned science and engineering consulting firm, is seeking a Civil Engineering Intern to support our coastal infrastructure team for Summer 2027.

Based in Newport, RI or Marion, MA, you will gain hands-on experience in waterfront engineering, including dredging, environmental permitting, surveys, AutoCAD Civil 3D design, and permit documentation under supervision of licensed engineers.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering from an ABET-accredited program.
• GPA of 3.0 or greater.
• AutoCAD Civil 3D experience.

Responsibilities

• Work on project deliverables in dredging, environmental permitting, civil and coastal engineering fields.
• Conduct topographic & hydrographic surveys and 3D drone scans with qualified team members.
• Assist with structural inspections and construction oversight activities.
• Support design work using AutoCAD Civil 3D and related tools.
• Prepare local, state, and federal permit documents.
• Assist with data management and report preparation.
