Job summary

Bowhead Family of Companies seeks a Mechanical Engineer to serve as the Interdisciplinary Engineer for USCG CEU Juneau, providing mechanical engineering services across projects in Alaska. Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering from an ABET-accredited program.
• Minimum 5 years of work experience in mechanical engineering.
• Minimum 5 years of hands-on AutoCAD experience.
• Knowledge of National Building Codes (IBC/IRC and related codes).
• Advanced degree (Master's/PhD) preferred; licensed PE desirable.
• Experience designing for Alaska/arctic locations is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Provide Mechanical engineering services for USCG CEU Juneau across projects.
• Perform technical reviews, scope development, field investigations, and design production.
• Produce drawings (AutoCAD), cost estimates, and technical analyses.
• Collaborate with CEU Juneau Project Managers, architects, engineers, and contractors.
• Review designs and provide comments for Design-Build and Design-Bid-Build efforts.
• Develop scopes of work for contract modifications and respond to RFI requests.
• Conduct facility condition assessments throughout D17 and travel as required.
