Job summary

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of work experience in structural engineering.
• Minimum 5 years of hands-on AutoCAD experience.
• Bachelor's degree in Structural or Civil Engineering with a structural emphasis.
• Experience with IBC/IRC and structural sub-disciplines for waterfront facilities, towers, and foundations; seismic, snow and wind loading; concrete/steel/timber systems.
• Master's or PhD in Structural or Civil Engineering from an ABET-accredited program preferred.
• Licensed Professional Engineer or similar certification desirable.
• Experience in Alaska/arctic locations and/or developing/reviewing A/E technical packages preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide structural engineering services for USCG CEU Juneau projects.
• Perform technical reviews and provide guidance to CEU Juneau Project Managers.
• Conduct comprehensive technical reviews of studies, reports, and analyses.
• Collaborate with managers, engineers, and contractors to resolve issues.
• Provide technical reviews and responses for A/E and contractor RFIs; assist in scoping contract modifications.
• Provide facility condition assessments across D17 AOR.
• Travel to meet CEU Juneau staff and review contract performance; occasional site reviews.
