Qualifications

Ability to effectively supervise vessel crew.
Ability to communicate effectively both in oral and written forms.

Responsibilities

Navigate the vessel and ensure the safety of passengers and crew.
Supervise vessel crew members in safety procedures.
Monitor and inspect engine room and machinery to ensure proper servicing by the engineering crew.
Supervise emergency drills as prescribed by the US Coast Guard.
Assist with US Coast Guard inspections when required.
Ensure US Coast Guard and FCC inspections are conducted as required.
Maintain vessel logs and reports as required by law and policy.
Enforce safety, health, and environmental rules and safe working practices.
Establish working relationships with crew, customers, regulatory agencies and contractors.
