Job summary

AEP is seeking a Coal Handler at Cresap, WV to perform routine tasks related to the coal conveying system and unskilled manual work in the plant yard and coal docks. The role requires handling coal, equipment operation, and basic maintenance under supervision.

Qualifications

• 2-year technical degree or high school diploma and two years related military and/or electric utility technical experience.

Responsibilities

• Perform cleaning work on the coal conveyor system and related areas.
• Load, unload and handle coal, materials, supplies and equipment; set and release brakes; signal locomotive operator.
• Operate and assist with rail and truck loading/unloading; inspect and maintain equipment as directed.
• Assist in training other employees and supervise assigned personnel.
