American Electric Power (AEP) in West Virginia seeks an Equipment Operator Jr. for entry-level maintenance and operation of power plant equipment. The role progresses to Equipment Operator-Junior after competency is achieved.

You will perform semi-skilled tasks such as inspecting and maintaining heat exchangers, ash handling, and piping systems, while following safety and regulatory guidelines.

Qualifikationen

• Associate degree in engineering, industrial or energy technology OR related work experience OR high school diploma with four years related experience OR high school diploma with two years military experience.
• Must possess a valid State driver's license.
• Must satisfactorily complete and exhibit competency in required training to advance in the progression path.

Aufgaben

• Isolate, clean, open, replace, inspect, close and return to service strainers, heat exchangers and dust collectors.
• Operate, clean, service and lubricate portable power-driven tools and equipment.
• Maintain tools, equipment and work areas in a clean and orderly condition.
• Utilize portable meters, analyzers and equipment to conduct tests and monitoring.
• Perform minor maintenance on bottom ash and fly ash handling equipment, including pumps, piping and valves.
• Monitor and inspect plant equipment for normal operation and report abnormalities.

Ausbildung
