Job summary

Tucson Unified School District is seeking a supplemental hourly position to supervise student-athletes at Howell Elementary School. The role emphasizes safety, sportsmanship, and responsible conduct during practices and games.

Responsibilities include supervising practice areas, locker rooms, and buses while maintaining patience and diplomacy with athletes, parents, staff, officials, and spectators throughout the season.

Qualifications

• NFHS Concussion certificate (Concussion in Sports Course) is required.
• NFHS Sportsmanship Certificate (Sportsmanship Course) or NFHS Student Mental Health and Suicide Prevention Certificate.
• Current CPR with AED; online courses are not accepted unless EMT license overrides.
• Current First Aid; online courses are not accepted unless EMT license overrides.
• Current Arizona IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card.
• Bloodborne pathogen training after hire by TUSD Risk Management Department.
• Proof of immunity to measles and rubella (MMR) or immunization.

Job description

SUMMARY

Promote sportsmanship and foster good character in student-athletes. Provide for the safety and welfare of all participants. Supervise students in practice areas, locker rooms, busses, and at all times during the season. Exercise patience, tolerance, and diplomacy in relations with all players, parents, co-workers, contest officials, and spectators. Interscholastic activities are an extension of the classroom and as such, your actions, behavior, and interactions with our student-athletes should be reflective of this.

This position is temporary and not eligible for district benefits.
